I alwyas tell new troops don't judge the military untill about year 3. Your in long enough to know how it works. You make a little more money. And you will be at a different base usually. Military isn't for everyone but I love it. You might not like it but be proud of it. You do something most people don't or can't.

I woke up the other day and walked out to crazy sounds, we have a line of pine trees just out side the fob, I guess there was a truck with explosives driving twards our gate, and well our OH-58D's were rocketing the shit out of it, pretty cool to wake up to
that pic you put a comment on, is actually the army/air force ammo depot in Kirkuk Iraq, in 2004, when I was here before, a rocket hit close to it and caught the dead grass on fire, which in turn caught the ASP on fire....that is a pic of what happens when you mix fire with air force 500lb bombs and helfire rockets, missles, artillery rounds, and anything else you can think of... it was blowing for over 2 hours straight... debris and shrapnel the size of your fist falling down... the iraqi's were outside their houses celebrating thinking we were getting our ass's kicked, but amazingly no one was hurt....
must be nice haha... wish I could volunteer if I just wanted to...instead of get into a mix of 14 months deployed 16 back
