this is good news. the show-pocalypse this year has been particularly brutal and i'm running out of crap to watch that isn't completely retarded. i will miss southland, breaking bad, magic city, boss, luther, copper, and even dexter.
and yeah, hopefully they will do more stuff centered on the reservation and just get a little more roughly-hewn in general. i think at this point they should feel comfortable departing from the books a bit, so hopefully that means they do a lot more complicated, realistic crime stories and don't just fill up the extra space with formula tv melodrama. [i don't really give a fuck about anyone's irrelevant relationship drama; that's what soap operas are for.]
definitely think they could benefit from adding some more grit. there's already a million super glossy (sort of) cop shows (ncis, csi, hawaii 5-0, really anything on abc & cbs). i never checked out any of the books, but i definitely am with you on not caring about anyones personal life drama.
it's not on down here, but this show 'blackstone' looks like it might be alright along the lines of portraying fucked up rez life. do any of the canadians here know if it's worth watching? here's the one episode i could find:
sometimes i'll start watching a show and be like "something is off here" then i will realize or find out its made in canada. i generally like the canadian productions i've seen. i'll give this a shot.
