awesome or terrible?
i saw this yesterday. i thought it was pretty dumb. and fuck method man.
I don't like the hologram stuff. Everyone made a big deal about the Tupac one and I didn't see the hype. Sure it would rule to see Tupac on stage again but he's dead and I can't get super stoked on seeing a computer/light image of him on stage. It's the same thing here with ODB.
What I don't get is why they would waste the money to do one for Method Man? I thought I heard the Tupac one cost in the area of a million to make happen for the 2 minutes it was on stage.
i read the tupac on cost between $100,000 and $400,000 which is insane.
its kind of cool to see and that the technology actually exists. as long as they don't start making the holograms do shit the actual people would never do, its a slippery slope.
if wu tang did a tour and had an ODB hologram do his parts, i'd pay to see that. not any more than without the hologram, but its a cool concept and at the moment i'm not against it.
the method man hologram was pointless, they could have just filmed him doing that shit and saved a million bucks. and you know what would be cooler than a method man hologram? if method man would actually show up and perform in person.
Yeah it's kind of pointless to have a living star do it, especially since everytime I've seen Wu-Tang, Meth was pretty much the center of attention. I think Mariah Carey did something where she was able to perform on 6 continents at one time but that was because 5 of those continents were going to be holograms performing. I'd be so pissed if I spent a ton of money on an artist to find out that I was watching a computer generated image.
I would definitely not pay extra money because their was going to be an ODB hologram, and I definitely wouldn't get super hyped when the thing appeared on the stage.
